Abstract [en]

In this project we investigated and implemented a wireless camera network (WCN) system in order to detect, localize and track humans. The system is designed to be deployed in a smart city.

Using background subtraction techniques, humans are first detected in images taken by each camera. Localization based on geometrical interpretation of the information from multiple cameras is investigated, and a Kalman filter-based tracking approach is implemented. Implementation is made with multiple Raspberry Pi single board computers and a main computer running Matlab.

I detta projekt undersöktes och implementerades ett trådlöst kameranätverkssystem (WCN) i syfte att detektera, lokalisera och spåra människor. Systemet är utformat för att brukas i en smart stad.

Genom användandet av bakgrundssubtraktion kan människor först detekteras i bilder tagna av varje kamera. Lokalisering baserad på geometrisk tolkning av informationen från flera kameror undersöks och utnyttjas. En spårningsmetod baserad på Kalmanfilter används. Implementeringen sker med flera Raspberry Pi enkortsdatorer och en huvuddator som använder Matlab.
