How Risks are Considered and Observed by Men and Women in the Board and Executive Management in Real Estate Companies (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

In this bachelor thesis, we have made a study of how men and women in leading positions in Swedish and Norwegian property companies consider risk. We have done interviews with decision making people in Swedish and Norwegian real estate companies, to further delve into the subject and understand what it means for men and women to take risks. The qualitative interviews have been supplemented with a quantitative data collection. We have collected data from the balance sheets, income statements and financial reports from Real Estate market which we have based our study on. This multi- method study shows that our qualitative analysis indicates that there are some differences between men and women in Norway. The study shows that is not as clear connection between how men and women considering risks in Sweden. There is no statistically significant effect between gender and risk in the quantitative analysis.
