    Inom hälso- och sjukvården är IT-säkerhet avgörande för att skydda både personlig information och patientsäkerheten. För närvarande genomförs implementering av säkerhetsåtgärder och tester efter mjukvaruutvecklingen, vilket kan minska effektiviteten och utgöra en potentiell risk för patienternas integritet. Detta arbete undersökte implementeringen av DevSecOps-metodiken inom hälso- och sjukvården med fokus på utvecklingsfasen. Genom att intervjua anställda och använda säkerhetsverktyg som SAST, kodgranskning, penetrationstestning och DAST identifierades fördelar och utmaningar. Utmaningarna inkluderade brist på säkerhetskunskap och svårighet att integrera verktyg kostnadsfritt. Trots detta visade resultatet på möjligheten att förbättra säkerheten, effektivisera arbetet och spara pengar genom att använda gratis verktyg och implementera säkerhet redan i utvecklingsfasen. Utbildning och anställning av säkerhetskompetent personal betonades också som viktigt för att upprätthålla höga säkerhetsstandarder

    Abstract [en]

    A 3D bioprinter employing light-based technology has been designed and constructed in an EU-funded research initiative known as BRIGHTER (Bioprinting by Light-Sheet Lithography). This initiative is a collaborative effort between institutions and companies and aims to develop a technique for efficient and accurate production of engineered tissue.

    Presently, the bioprinter’s function is limited to 2D printing, with the lack of 3D printing capabilities. 

    The problem addressed is the integration of two separate electronic systems within the bioprinter to control the laser beam’s trajectory for 3D printing. The goal of the project is to create functional software and simulation tools to control the hardware modules in a precise and synchronized manner, thereby enabling 3D printing.

    The outcome manifests as a software prototype, which successfully facilitates intercommunication between the two electronic subsystems within the bioprinter, thereby enabling further progress on the bioprinter with 3D printing available. Nevertheless, the prototype requires thorough testing to determine its optimal operational efficiency in terms of timing the movements for the various hardware modules.

    Abstract [en]

    Due to the rise of digitalization and the growing amount of data, ensuring the integrity and security of patient data has become increasingly vital within the healthcare industry, which has traditionally managed substantial quantities of sensitive patient and personal information. This bachelor's thesis focused on designing and implementing a secure data sharing infrastructure to protect the integrity and confidentiality of patient data. Synthetic data was used to enable access for researchers and students in regulated environments without compromising patient privacy. The project successfully achieved its goals by evaluating different privacy-preserving mechanisms and developing a machine learning-based application to demonstrate the functionality of the secure data sharing infrastructure. Despite some challenges, the chosen algorithms showed promising results in terms of privacy preservation and statistical similarity. Ultimately, the use of synthetic data can promote fair decision-making processes and contribute to secure data sharing practices in the healthcare industry.

    Användandet av solceller ökar kontinuerligt i Sverige och effekten som genererasav solcellerna förvaras oftast i bly-syra batterier. Dessa batterier har en dåligpåverkan på miljön eftersom det krävs mycket energi och miljöfarliga material såsom bly och svavelsyra för att tillverka dessa batterier. Östersjökompaniet AB ochmånga av dess kunder inser vikten av ett hållbart tänkande och var intresseradeav att veta om det var möjligt att maximera livslängden av dessa batterier. Underarbetets gång analyserades olika metoder för upp- och urladdning av batterier somkan påverka ett batteris livslängd och hur man kan bära sig åt för att optimera det.En laddningskontroller användes för att optimera laddningen av batteriet. För attberäkna laddningsnivån i batteriet användes metoden ”Extended voltmeter”. Enprototyp som kunde ladda batterierna på ett optimalt sätt, varna då batterietsladdningsnivå blev för låg samt en användarvänlig applikation för övervakning avbatteriet konstruerades. Ett batteris beräknade livslängd är ingen exakt vetenskap.Enligt studier kan livslängden av ett batteri fördubblas om det laddas upp ochladdas ur på ett optimalt sätt i jämförelse med då det laddas ur helt.

    Abstract [en]

    Obtaining data simultaneously from different sensors located on different mobile devices can be useful for applications such as sports and medicine. In order for the data from the different sensors to be combined for analysis, the mobile devices need to be time synchronized first. This paper presents an application that can be used to calculate the difference between the internal clocks of two android devices using a combination of the Cristian and Marzullo algorithms. Different methods to connect the devices over Wi-Fi as well as the internet are tested to determine the optimal method for clock synchronization. The paper also validates the synchronization by testing different sensors on two identical android smartphones. The results show that clock synchronization between two mobile devices can be achieved with a round-trip time of 2 milliseconds or less using Wi-Fi Direct. Validation of the synchronization shows that a delay of 7 milliseconds or less can be achieved between two sensors of the same type on two identical android smartphones. It also shows that the least achievable delay between sensors of different types is 16 milliseconds. The conclusion is that once two android smartphones’ clocks are synchronized, only data from sensors of the same type can be combined, with the exception of the camera sensor. Further testing with more robust equipment is needed in order to eliminate human error which could possibly yield more desirable results.

    In this paper, the spotlight is directed towards studying the handling capacity of pure Ro-Ro terminals, especially the new terminal of Norvik port. To this end, a simulation model based on a distributed architecture is built to assess the handling capacity under different flow scenarios with a particular focus on the trailer flow and export-lorry flow the terminal can handle in terms of resource availability, trailer-dwell times and management rules. This helped to determine the number of resources required to evacuate smoothly the incoming flows and to identify where potential bottlenecks happen the most inside the terminal. The established model is verified then validated by experts to conduct properly the experiment study where the model is fed with empirical data provided by terminal authorities. This experiment showed that the terminal can handle flows of which trailers do not exceed 17% and the export fraction of lorries is at most 42%.

    Abstract [en]

    Container terminals are complex systems where containerized cargo undergoes a set of processing and handling operations to be delivered to their outgoing modes. A pool of decision support methods and simulation models has been developed to assist planners and managers in making decisions about daily operations. Nevertheless, most are designed for a particular terminal and not generic types. Indeed, a generic model serves as a conceptual factory to create specific models which greatly reduces the time and efforts of development; however, building such a model is no mean feat. To this aim, the paper on hand discusses the complexity of applying genericity, flexibility, and modularity in system modeling and proposes a generic architecture to build modular and flexible simulation models for container terminals. This architecture is split into a set of smaller, manageable, well-connected, and generic modules that facilitate the creation of highly parametrized specific models. An illustrative example of the architecture usage is presented in a case study, the new container terminal of Stockholm, and the resulting models were validated by subject matter experts. Finally, to prove its efficiency, a numerical study fed with real data is conducted to investigate the handling capacity of the studied system under different handling and flow scenarios. The obtained results show that the terminal handling capacity can be increased by around 50% if three to four more straddle carriers are added to the existing fleet.

    Demands for health care are becoming overwhelming for healthcare systems around the world regarding theavailability of resources, particularly, in emergency departments (EDs) that are continuously open and mustserve immediately any patient who comes in. Efficient management of EDs and their resources is requiredmore than ever. This could be achieved either by optimizing resource utilization or by the improvement ofhospital layout. This paper investigates, through data-driven simulation alternative designs of workflowsand layouts to operate the ED of the Uppsala University Hospital in Sweden. Results are analyzed tounderstand the requirements across the hospital for reduced waiting times in the ED. The main observationrevealed that introducing a new ward dedicated to patients having complex diagnoses with a capacity ofless than 20 beds leads to lower waiting times. Furthermore, the use of data-mining was of great help inreducing the efforts of building the simulation model.

    Abstract [en]

    Modeling, one of the main pillars of good scientific research, is a long-standing multidisciplinary activity to understand and analyze complex systems. In this paper, the focus is directed toward conceptual modeling of multi-terminal seaports specialized in handling and treatment of intermodal transport units (ITU). These systems are complex with highly dynamic and stochastic behaviors and actors, therefore, studying them as a coherent whole or just analyzing one part by taking into account the high degree of integration among the different aspects and actors linked by a flow of activities, information, and interactions is a bet lost in advance without a well-defined design process. Several design approaches and methodologies have been proposed over the years, but nonetheless, there is still no agreement on how to conduct modeling of complex systems because they are of different kinds. In this line, this paper proposes a top-down approach for container and Ro-Ro terminals largely inspired by the Unified Process Methodology and refined through several research projects that we have been involved in. It gives some recommendations and guidelines as well as a helpful way to successfully build modular and consistent simulation models. To prove its efficiency, it was applied to a case study and the resulting models were validated by the subject matter's experts.

    As a type of intermodal terminal, pure Ro-Ro terminals are one of the most important logistic hubs in the supply chain for rolling freight stored in containerized and wheeled steel boxes. These large-scale systems are highly complex, with nonlinear and hard-to-predict behavior evolving in a stochastic environment. Consequently, making decisions about any problem thereof is no mean feat, particularly for terminal planners. To assist them in decision-making, a pool of relevant models and tools have been developed over the years in the literature. Nevertheless, models that are oriented toward specific objectives dominate, and generic ones are rare. This paper tries to fill this gap and proposes a generic framework to be used as a factory to create specific decision support models based on simulation for pure Ro-Ro terminals. This framework is formulated following two artifacts: (1) the known classification of key performance indicators combined with the typical functional and physical organization of pure Ro-Ro terminals; (2) the three main arteries of harbor systems, namely flows, decisions and operations. Then a scalable way of making decisions based on a flexible form of the cost function weighted according to a set of coefficients is integrated. These designed coefficients allow decision-makers a wide flexibly in choosing how the best solutions are determined. An application of this framework is illustrated through a real case study, where the weights are estimated using an expert-profiling based approach then pushed into the OptQuest optimizer to be calibrated before analyzing the results. These results are aggregated, then expressed as scores on a scale of 0 to 1. This is to help terminal planners to easily identify the worst and best planning scenarios as well as the relationships and compatibilities between the involved handling rules to suggest different alternatives for managing operations.

    Järnvägsbranschen står i dagsläget inför stora utmaningar med planerade infrastrukturprojekt och underhåll av befintlig järnväg. Med ökade förväntningar på  utbyggnaden av den framtida järnvägen, medför det en ökad risk för belastning på det nuvarande nätet. Baksidan av utbyggnaden kan bli fler inställda resor och  förseningar. Genom att dra nytta av tekniska innovationer såsom digitalisering och  automatisering kan det befintliga system och arbetsprocesser utvecklas för en  effektivare hantering.  Trafikverket ställer krav på Byggnadsinformationsmodeller (BIM) i upphandlingar. Projektering för signalanläggningar sker hos Sweco med CAD-programmet  Promis.e. Från programmet kan Baninformationslistor (BIS-listor) innehållande  information om objekts attribut hämtas. Trafikverket ställer krav på att attributen ska bestå av ett visst format eller ha specifika värden. I detta examensarbete  undersöks metoder för att automatisk verifiera ifall objekt har tillåtna värden från projekteringsverktyget samt implementering av en metod. Undersökta metoder  innefattar kalkyleringsprogrammet Excel, frågespråket Structured Query Language (SQL) och processen Extract, Transform and Load (ETL).  Efter analys av metoder valdes processen ETL. Resultatet blev att ett program  skapades för att automatiskt välja vilken typ av BIS-lista som skulle granskas och för att verifiera om attributen innehöll tillåtna värden. För att undersöka om kostnaden för programmen skulle gynna företaget utöver kvalitetssäkringen utfördes en  ekonomisk analys. Enligt beräkningarna kunde valet av att automatisera  granskningen även motiveras ur ett ekonomiskt perspektiv.

    Alstom wanted to investigate the possibility of adapting its light emitting diode (LED) technology for shunting signals in train traffic. The LED technology uses 50V, but Alstom wants to adapt it for 12V. The LED technology is energy efficient but needs to be adapted for existing signal interlocking by drawing a higher current. This meant that the possibility of reactive power compensation was investigated to obtain lower thermal dissipation in dwarf signal. The essay presents a couple of possible solutions. One of the solutions is to raise the voltage by using a booster converter to use the existing 50V LED unit. Capacitors were reviewed to be used in reactive power compensation to increase current supply. One of the solutions then became a capacitor bank. Simulations indicated that a booster converter and a capacitor bank can be used to adapt the circuit. However, some modifications must be made.

    Open Source Medical Devices may be part of the solution towards the democratization of medical technologies pursuing Universal Health Coverage as part of the Sustainable Development Goals for United Nations. Recent technological advances, especially in information and communication technologies, combined with innovative collaborative design methodologies and manufacturing techniques allow for the mass-personalization of biodevices and help to optimize the related development times and costs, while keeping safety in the foreground through the whole life cycle of medical products. These advantages can be further promoted by adequately fostering collaboration, communication, high value information exchange, and sustainable partnerships and by extending the employment of open source strategies. To this end, within the UBORA project, we are developing a framework for training the biomedical engineers of the future in open-source collaborative design strategies and for supporting the sharing of information and the assessment of safety and efficacy in novel biodevices. An essential part of this open-source collaborative framework is the UBORA e-infrastructure, which is presented in this study, together with some initial success cases. Main future challenges, connected with regulatory harmonization, with educational issues and with accessible and open design and manufacturing resources, among others, are also presented and discussed.

    Abstract [en]

    Biomedical engineering (BME) has the potential of transforming medical care towards universal healthcare by means of the democratization of medical technology. To this end, innovative holistic approaches and multidisciplinary teams, built upon the gathering of international talent, should be encouraged within the medical industry. However, these transformations can only be accomplished if BME education also continuously evolves and focuses on the internationalization of students, the promotion of collaborative design strategies and the orientation towards context relevant medical needs. In this study we describe an international teaching-learning experience, the "UBORA (Swahili for 'excellence') Design School". During an intensive week of training and collaboration 39 engineering students lived through the complete development process for creating innovative open-source medical devices following the CDIO ("conceivedesign-implement-operate") approach and using the UBORA e-infrastructure as a co-design platform. Our post-school survey and analyses showed that this integral teaching-learning experience helped to promote professional skills and could nurture the future generation of biomedical engineers, who could transform healthcare technology through collaborative design oriented to open source medical devices.

    Oral drug absorption is a complex process depending on many factors, including the physicochemical properties of the drug, formulation characteristics and their interplay with gastrointestinal physiology and biology. Physiological-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models integrate all available information on gastro-intestinal system with drug and formulation data to predict oral drug absorption. The latter together with in vitro-in vivo extrapolation and other preclinical data on drug disposition can be used to predict plasma concentration-time profiles in silico. Despite recent successes of PBPK in many areas of drug development, an improvement in their utility for evaluating oral absorption is much needed. Current status of predictive performance, within the confinement of commonly available in vitro data on drugs and formulations alongside systems information, were tested using 3 PBPK software packages (GI-Sim (ver.4.1), Simcyp® Simulator (ver.15.0.86.0), and GastroPlusTM (ver.9.0.00xx)). This was part of the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) Oral Biopharmaceutics Tools (OrBiTo) project.

    Fifty eight active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) were qualified from the OrBiTo database to be part of the investigation based on a priori set criteria on availability of minimum necessary information to allow modelling exercise. The set entailed over 200 human clinical studies with over 700 study arms. These were simulated using input parameters which had been harmonised by a panel of experts across different software packages prior to conduct of any simulation. Overall prediction performance and software packages comparison were evaluated based on performance indicators (Fold error (FE), Average fold error (AFE) and absolute average fold error (AAFE)) of pharmacokinetic (PK) parameters.

    On average, PK parameters (Area Under the Concentration-time curve (AUC0-tlast), Maximal concentration (Cmax), half-life (t1/2)) were predicted with AFE values between 1.11 and 1.97. Variability in FEs of these PK parameters was relatively high with AAFE values ranging from 2.08 to 2.74. Around half of the simulations were within the 2-fold error for AUC0-tlast and around 90% of the simulations were within 10-fold error for AUC0-tlast. Oral bioavailability (Foral) predictions, which were limited to 19 APIs having intravenous (i.v.) human data, showed AFE and AAFE of values 1.37 and 1.75 respectively. Across different APIs, AFE of AUC0-tlast predictions were between 0.22 and 22.76 with 70% of the APIs showing an AFE > 1. When compared across different formulations and routes of administration, AUC0-tlast for oral controlled release and i.v. administration were better predicted than that for oral immediate release formulations. Average predictive performance did not clearly differ between software packages but some APIs showed a high level of variability in predictive performance across different software packages. This variability could be related to several factors such as compound specific properties, the quality and availability of information, and errors in scaling from in vitro and preclinical in vivo data to human in vivo behaviour which will be explored further. Results were compared with previous similar exercise when the input data selection was carried by the modeller rather than a panel of experts on each in vitro test. Overall, average predictive performance was increased as reflected in smaller AAFE value of 2.8 as compared to AAFE value of 3.8 in case of previous exercise.

    The goal of this thesis is to explore the possibility on if it is possible to automate regression testing for a SaaS application with a serverless approach. The thesis covers the fundamentals of the software development lifecycle, cloud concepts, different types of testing frameworks, and SaaS applications. The report researches various testing tools that can be used in accordance with Polestar’s needs. The testing framework must run the existing tests and deliver the results of the tests. The system must be able to coexist with the testing strategy that is in place today. The result is a testing framework that can run a number of selected tests on the SaaS application Salesforce. The system was deployed with serverless docker containers through Amazon Web Services. The report also covers what a future implementation can look like and potential improvements.

    The amount of data and the development of new technologies used by all society-critical organizations are increasing dramatically. In parallel, data breaches, cyber-attacks, and their devastating consequences are also on the rise, as well as the number of individuals and organizations that are potential targets for such attacks. This places higher demands on security in terms of protecting data against cyber-attacks and controlling access to data that authenticated users want to access. The paper focuses on studying concepts of secure data practices in a GitLab-based cloud environment. The objective is to give answers to questions such as how to ensure the guarantee of secure data and protect it from unauthorized access and changes. The work behind this thesis includes exploring techniques for access control, data encryption, and data immutability. The study is followed by an implementation project that includes fetching code from GitLab verifying user identity and access control, managing data access, and displaying the results. The results of the thesis demonstrate the effectiveness of the implemented security measures in protecting data and controlling access.

    Background Trauma is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Morbidity and mortality review of selected patient cases is used to improve the quality of trauma care by identifying opportunities for improvement (OFI). The aim of this study was to assess how patient and process factors are associated with OFI in trauma care.

    Methods We conducted a registry-based study using all patients between 2017 and 2021 from the Karolinska University Hospital who had been reviewed regarding the presence of OFI as defined by a morbidity and mortality conference. We used bi- and multivariable logistic regression to assess the associations between the following patient and process factors and OFI: age, sex, respiratory rate, systolic blood pressure, Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), Injury Severity Score (ISS), survival at 30 days, highest hospital care level, arrival on working hours, arrival on weekends, intubation status and time to first computed tomography (CT).

    Results OFI was identified in 300 (5.8%) out of 5182 patients. Age, missing Glasgow Coma Scale, time to first CT, highest hospital care level and ISS were statistically significantly associated with OFI.

    Conclusion Several patient and process factors were found to be associated with OFI, indicating that patients with moderate to severe trauma and those with delays to first CT are at the highest odds of OFI.

    Syftet med detta arbete var att undersöka möjligheterna att använda högnivåspråket Swift utanför iOS i webbläsaren och i Android. Detta för att minska mängden kod som skrivs och därmed minska utvecklingstiden för att skapa applikationer för iOS, webbläsaren samt Android. För att hitta lämpliga verktyg som löser frågeställningen har en undersökning av tidigare arbeten och metoder gjorts. Resultatet från undersökningen ledde till användningen av ramverket Tokamak tillsammans med WebAssembly för att återanvända Swift i webbläsaren och verktyget SwiftKotlin för att återanvända Swift i Android.

    En applikation med designmönstret Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM) skapades i avsikt att testa återanvändbarheten. Resultatet visade att Tokamak tillsammans med WebAssembly möjliggör återanvändning av ursprungliga koden för iOS-applikationen komplett förutom plattformsspecifika funktioner som lokalt sparande och nätverksanrop. SwiftKotlin möjliggör återanvändning av modellklassen i applikationen med små justeringar, medan vymodell och vyklasserna behöver skrivas manuellt.

    Spårledningar används inom tunnelbanan för att visa tågets position samt bestämma tågets hastighet genom att bryta spänningsamplituden i signalen vid olika frekvenser. Frekvensen till spårledningen fås från en roterande frekvensomformare. I dagens anläggning används roterande frekvensomformare med borstar. Dessa avger i relärum mycket värme och ger miljöproblem i form av koldamm från borstarna. Det befintliga systemet är gammal och har funnits i drift över 30 år, därför håller reservdelar på att ta slut samt service till systemet svårtillgängligt.

    Detta examensarbete har undersökt möjligheten att uppgradera till nyare system som bygger på en lösning med roterande borstlös frekvensomformare där reservdelarna och service är tillgängliga i minst 25 år.

    Undersökningen jämför olika roterande borstlösa frekvensomformare från olika leverantörer för att hitta en frekvensomformare där kraven från Trafikförvaltningen uppfylls.

    Studien har haft fokus på problemområdet med borstade frekvensomformaren som producerar skadliga ämnen såsom koldamm och värmen i relärum. Diskussioner med tillverkningsföretag av roterande borstlös frekvensomformaren har skett under denna studies gång där möjliga alternativ för vidare utveckling av systemet i relärum analyseras. I projektet har även diskuterat möjligheten att använda det nya systemet av frekvensomformare med borstlösa motor och generator istället för den nuvarande borstade frekvensomformaren som finns i anläggningen. Resultatet har även visat att den roterande borstlösa frekvensomformaren kan omvandla frekvensen till 75 Hz. Det nya systemet uppfyller kraven från Trafikförvaltningen samt att systemet håller i minst 25 år till. Att systemet håller minst i 25 år till var ett stort krav av Trafikförvaltningen som uppfylldes under denna studie.

    Trafikförvaltningen, som ansvarar för kollektivtrafiken i Stockholm, har startat ett projekt för att byta ut befintliga armaturer i Stockholms tunnelbana mot LED-armaturer. Denna rapport utför förarbetet inför en kommande upphandling.

    Detta arbete utvärderar olika LED-armaturers tekniska specifikationer som är lämpliga för Stockholms tunnelbana där armaturerna ska bytas ut. För denna miljö saknas det i dagsläget standarder som är anpassade för LED-armaturer. Med hjälp av litteraturstudier och mätningar kunde underlag för en kravspecifikation skapas. Mätningar har gjorts på ett urval av LED-armaturer och deras tekniska specifikation har presenterats. Samtliga armaturer klarade EMC-testerna (elektromagnetisk kompabilitet) där inga störningar uppstod vid frekvenserna för Storstockholms Lokaltrafiks (SL) radiokommunikationssystem.

    Arbetet har även hanterat miljö- samt den ekonomiska aspekten av implementeringen av LED-belysning.

    Workplace safety, particularly in manual handling tasks, is a critical concern that hasbeen increasingly addressed using advanced risk assessment tools. However, pre-senting the complex results of these assessments in an easily digestible format re-mains a challenge. This thesis focused on designing and developing a user-friendlyweb application to visualise risk assessment data effectively. Grounded in a robusttheoretical framework that combines user experience principles, and data visualisa-tion techniques. The study employed an iterative, user-centric design process to de-velop the web application. Multiple visualisation methods, such as pie charts for vis-ualising risk distribution, bar chart, and line chart for time-based analysis, were eval-uated for their effectiveness through usability testing. The application's primary con-tribution lies in its efficient data visualisation techniques, aimed at simplifying com-plex datasets into actionable insights. This work lays the groundwork enabling futuredevelopment by pinpointing areas for improvement like enhanced interactivity andaccessibility.

    Företaget Telia har en webbapplikation som är under utveckling och ska fungera som en internportal för kunder till företaget. De upplever en bristande prestanda i frontenddelen av applikationen i form av långa laddningstider. De vill därför undersöka möjligheter för optimering av prestandan för deras webbapplikation, i hopp om att förbättra användarupplevelsen. Målet var att undersöka möjligheter för tillämpning av olika optimeringstekniker som kan förbättra delar av prestandan med nära koppling till användarupplevelsen. 

    I detta arbete undersöktes tidigare forskning inom ämnet användarupplevelse relaterat till digitala produkter. Det gjordes även undersökning av liknande arbeten, lämpliga prestandamått och optimeringstekniker. För att testa, analysera och utvärdera optimeringsteknikerna skapades automatiska tester som lagrade mätdata på valda prestandamått. Därefter analyserades mätdata från testerna för att kunna föreslå vidareutveckling för Telias webbapplikation. En analys av mätdata visade en förbättring av Telias webbapplikation för de två undersökta prestandamåtten med 33% respektive 35%.

    Studien undersöker vilka metoder som är mest lämpliga för rekryteringsprocesser genom att inkludera tre befintliga Artificiell intelligens (AI) verktyg samt en egenutvecklad prototyp. Tidigare studier har visat att AI kan förbättra rekryteringsprocessen genom att öka effektiviteten och minska fördomar, men också att det finns begränsningar i hur väl AI kan bedöma kandidaternas kompetenser. Målet är att bestämma de mest effektiva AI-lösningar för att matcha kvalificerade kandidater till ledande positioner. Identifierade möjligheter till förbättringar i hastighet, noggrannhet och kvalitet av rekryteringsprocessen. Fokuset för detta arbete ligger på analys av befintliga AI-lösningar parallellt med utvecklingen och testningen av en prototyp. Prototypen har designats för att hantera de brister som identifierats i de befintliga metoderna, såsom matchning av nyckelord mellan Curriculum Vitae (CV) och jobbannonsen. Denna metod har begränsningar i hur väl den kan identifiera kandidaters verkliga kompetenser och relevans för jobbet, vilket utforskas i denna studie. Resultatet från denna studie visar att AI för närvarande har en begränsad, men växande betydelse i rekryteringsprocesser. Detta pekar på en betydande potential för AI att erbjuda nya lösningar som kan leda till mer rättvisa och effektiva rekryteringsprocesser i framtiden.

    Det finns en brist på oberoende forskning som jämför Redpandas kapacitet med etablerade alternativ som Apache Kafka, särskilt i IoT-sammanhang där resurseffektivitet är avgörande. Detta arbete jämför prestandan hos de två plattformarna i realtidsdataapplikationer under förhållanden som liknar de i IoT-miljöer. Genom en egenutvecklad applikation genomfördes prestandatester i en lokal containeriserad miljö för att utvärdera genomströmningshastighet och latens vid olika meddelandestorlekar och antal partitioner. Studien visar att Redpanda överträffar Kafka vid mindre meddelandestorlekar, med högre genomströmningshastighet och lägre latens, särskilt vid högre antal partitioner. Däremot utmärker sig Kafka vid större meddelandestorlekar genom att uppnå högre genomströmningshastighet, men med ökad latens. Resultaten indikerar att Redpanda är väl lämpad för IoT-applikationer som kräver snabb hantering av små meddelanden, medan Kafka är mer effektiv för scenarier som involverar större datamängder. Fynden betonar vikten av att välja rätt plattform baserat på specifika applikationsbehov, vilket bidrar med värdefulla insikter inom IoT och realtidsdatahantering.

    Abstract [en]

    This thesis describes the work process two (WP2) of a project led by the traffic administration in Stockholm to achieve the passengers' thermal comfort in traffic buses. 

    The purpose of this thesis is to design and implement a measurement system comprised in eight measurement position in a bus. Each position is able to transmit data using a wireless communication protocol, with a central unit collecting all the transmitted data taking into consideration the accuracy of the measurements and filtering out the incorrect data.

    In order to accomplish this, a literature study is conducted investigating different measurement methods for different parameters, different communication protocols were analysed as well to determine an appropriate communication protocol suitable for climate measurement in a bus environment with passengers present on board. 

    The output of the HVAC system is also required to help the traffic administration demonstrate the results of adjusting the temperature in the bus to reach the thermal comfort and how it led to saving energy.

    The system incorporates ZigBee , ESP32 microcontroller in the sender positions and a Raspberry pi operating as a central unit to collect data and store it in a file system providing an accurate data that will help the traffic administration achieve their goals.

    Unfortunately, there were some diffculties accessing CAN system data to provide the output of the HVAC system.

    Hela världen står inför nya utmaningar till följd av klimatförändringar. I syfte att mitigera människans påverkan på klimatet har den Europeiska unionen och Sverige som EU-land beslutat att fasa ut användningen av fossila drivmedel. Omställningen från fossildrivna fordon till eldrivna har påbörjats men Sverige är i dagsläget långt ifrån en fullständig omställning. Förutsättningen för att en hundraprocentig omställning skall vara möjlig är att en fungerande laddningsinfrastruktur är på plats och kan hantera det ökande behovet av laddning. I denna rapport studeras den nuvarande svenska laddningsinfrastrukturen och de faktorer som hämmar en fortsatt utveckling presenteras. Avslutningsvis redovisas det att satsning på publik- och hemmaladdning är viktiga faktorer i alla nivåer av omställning, insyn och samverkar är något som saknas idag och är något som måste finnas för att fullständig omställning skall vara möjlig.

    Sammanfattning

    Detta examensarbete har utförts på uppdrag av Stanley Security Sverige AB. Företaget Stanley tillhandahåller en produkt för att beräkna antalet personer i en kö. Produkten detekterar antal personer i en kö med hjälp av en övervakningskamera och djup maskininlärning. Företaget upplever att den befintliga lösningen inte presterar tillräcklig nog för att driftsättas och dessutom inte detekterar med hög noggrannhet. I detta arbete har olika kända objektigenkänningsmodeller undersökts och jämförts, dessutom utfördes undersökning av tidigare arbeten och tester inom området.

    Resultatet blev en omkonfigurerad modellprototyp som endast detekterar ansikten gentemot de kända modellerna You Only Look Once V3 (YOLOV3) och Single Shot MultiBox Detector (SSD) som detekterar hela kroppen, inklusive andra objekt. Den föreslagna modellen presterade betydligt bättre än de kända modellerna i avseendet att räkna människor i en kö. Resultatet pekar mot att den förslagna modellprototypen kan driftsättas i realtid och användas av Stanelys kunder för att effektivt fördela resurser inom deras företag.

    Detta examensarbete tar upp digitala hot mot webbapplikationer och kategoriserar allmänhetens uppfattning om dem. Digitala hot är oftast kopplade till ekonomiska konsekvenser varvid även dessa kommer att studeras. Målet med detta arbete är att bidra till en vetenskaplig artikel i framtiden, som kan vara värdefull för allmänheten, samt för framtida arbete och sysselsättning.

    För att analysera samlade uppfattningar användes konstant jämförande metoden. Resultatet avslöjar flera spännande fynd för teori och praktik, där uppfattningar om cybervärlden presenteras för att kunna förstå mer hur andra ser på cybersäkerhet idag. Det visar även betydande variationer bland deltagarnas uppfattningar och att informationssäkerhet, även om den gradvis utvecklas, har en lång väg tills den blir en obruten del av affärsverksamheten och arbetskraftens verklighet. 

    Denna studie kan även fungera som en guide för de olika uppfattningarna om cyberattacker eftersom den ger en översikt över de idag mest relevanta cyberattackerna. Arbetet kompletterades med en studie som belyser ekonomiska konsekvenser av cyberattacker. Utöver detta studerades även cyberattacken mot Coop under sommaren 2021.

    This thesis focuses on how the implementation context for a surgical telementoringservice can be understood as a complex, adaptive sociotechnical system.Teleguidance was a service for remote surgical consultation in Endoscopic RetrogradeCholangiopancreatography (ERCP), a highly specialized clinical procedure.The solution had been developed in a participatory design setting andhad also been successfully trialed in a pilot study. It was to be deployed atfour additional hospitals, but differences between the implementation contextswould make it challenging to understand clinical outcomes, and could also affectmatters such as adoption.This thesis includes four papers which converge on user needs and the sociotechnicalimplementation context for teleguidance. The aim was to demonstratehow a sociotechnical systems oriented approach could be used to identifyfactors that could interact with the implementation. The first paper describesan investigation of attitudes and expectations among end-users and other stakeholders.The second paper shows how modelling the sociotechnical work systemmade it possible to investigate and proactively identify issues that might influenceimplementation and adoption. The third paper explicates methodologicalaspects of modeling the domain. The fourth paper describes a study designed tocapture early reactions to working with the system. Seen together, the researchrepresents a design science approach, that proposes that the implementationcontext can be viewed as a complex, adaptive system, and provides examplesthat show how focusing on user and stakeholder needs and wider context ofuse is a viable approach for supporting the implementation and evaluation oftelemedicine systems in complex settings.

    Many promising telemedicine innovations fail to be accepted and used over time, and there are longstanding questions about howto best evaluate telemedicine services and other health information technologies. In response to these challenges, there is a growinginterest in how to take the sociotechnical complexity of health care into account during design, implementation, and evaluation.This paper discusses the methodological implications of this complexity and how the sociotechnical context holds the key tounderstanding the effects and outcomes of telemedicine. Examples from a work domain analysis of a surgical setting, where atelemedicine service for remote surgical consultation was to be introduced, are used to show how abstracted functional modelingcan provide a structured and rigorous means to analyze and represent the implementation context in complex health care settings.

    Background:A telemedicine service enabling remote surgical consultation had shown promising results. When the service was to be scaled up, it was unclear how contextual variations among different clinical sites could affect the clinical outcomes and implementation of the service. It is generally recognized that contextual factors and work system complexities affect the implementation and outcomes of telemedicine. However, it is methodologically challenging to account for context in complex health care settings. We conducted a work domain analysis (WDA), an engineering method for modeling and analyzing complex work environments, to investigate and represent contextual influences when a telemedicine service was to be scaled up to multiple hospitals.

    Objective:We wanted to systematically characterize the implementation contexts at the clinics participating in the scale-up process. Conducting a WDA would allow us to identify, in a systematic manner, the functional constraints that shape clinical work at the implementation sites and set the sites apart. The findings could then be valuable for informed implementation and assessment of the telemedicine service.

    Methods:We conducted observations and semistructured interviews with a variety of stakeholders. Thematic analysis was guided by concepts derived from the WDA framework. We identified objects, functions, priorities, and values that shape clinical procedures. An iterative “discovery and modeling” approach allowed us to first focus on one clinic and then readjust the scope as our understanding of the work systems deepened.

    Results:We characterized three sets of constraints (ie, facets) in the domain: the treatment facet, administrative facet (providing resources for procedures), and development facet (training, quality improvement, and research). The constraints included medical equipment affecting treatment options; administrative processes affecting access to staff and facilities; values and priorities affecting assessments during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography; and resources for conducting the procedure.

    Conclusions:The surgical work system is embedded in multiple sets of constraints that can be modeled as facets of the system. We found variations between the implementation sites that might interact negatively with the telemedicine service. However, there may be enough motivation and resources to overcome these initial disruptions given that values and priorities are shared across the sites. Contrasting the development facets at different sites highlighted the differences in resources for training and research. In some cases, this could indicate a risk that organizational demands for efficiency and effectiveness might be prioritized over the long-term outcomes provided by the telemedicine service, or a reduced willingness or ability to accept a service that is not yet fully developed or adapted. WDA proved effective in representing and analyzing these complex clinical contexts in the face of technological change. The models serve as examples of how to analyze and represent a complex sociotechnical context during telemedicine design, implementation, and assessment.

    Background:Telemedicine innovations are rarely adopted into routine health care, the reasons for which are not well understood. Teleguidance, a promising service for remote surgical guidance during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) was due to be scaled up, but there were concerns that user attitudes might influence adoption.

    Objective:Our objective was to gain a deeper understanding of ERCP practitioners’ attitudes toward teleguidance. These findings could inform the implementation process and future evaluations.

    Methods:We conducted semistructured interviews with ERCP staff about challenges during work and beliefs about teleguidance. Theoretical constructs from the technology acceptance model (TAM) guided the thematic analysis. Our findings became input to a 16-item questionnaire, investigating surgeons’ beliefs about teleguidance’s contribution to performance and factors that might interact with implementation.

    Results:Results from 20 interviews with ERCP staff from 5 hospitals were used to adapt a TAM questionnaire, exchanging the standard “Ease of Use” items for “Compatibility and Implementation Climate.” In total, 23 ERCP specialists from 15 ERCP clinics responded to the questionnaire: 9 novices (<500 ERCP procedures) and 14 experts (>500 ERCP procedures). The average agreement ratings for usefulness items were 64% (~9/14) among experts and 75% (~7/9) among novices. The average agreement ratings for compatibility items were somewhat lower (experts 64% [~9/14], novices 69% [~6/9]). The averages have been calculated from the sum of several items and therefore, they only approximate the actual values. While 11 of the 14 experts (79%) and 8 of the 9 novices (89%) agreed that teleguidance could improve overall quality and patient safety during ERCP procedures, only 8 of the 14 experts (57%) and 6 of the 9 novices (67%) agreed that teleguidance would not create new patient safety risks. Only 5 of the 14 experts (36%) and 3 of the 9 novices (33%) were convinced that video and image transmission would function well. Similarly, only 6 of the 14 experts (43%) and 6 of the 9 novices (67%) agreed that administration would work smoothly. There were no statistically significant differences between the experts and novices on any of the 16 items (P<.05).

    Conclusions:Both novices and experts in ERCP procedures had concerns that teleguidance might disrupt existing work practices. However, novices were generally more positive toward teleguidance than experts, especially with regard to the possibility of developing technical skills and work practices. While newly trained specialists were the main target for teleguidance, the experts were also intended users. As experts are more likely to be key decision makers, their attitudes may have a greater relative impact on adoption. We present suggestions to address these concerns. We conclude that using the TAM as a conceptual framework can support user-centered inquiry into telemedicine design and implementation by connecting qualitative findings to well-known analytical themes.

    Background: Teleguidance, a promising telemedicine service for intraoperative surgical consultation, was planned to scale upat a major academic hospital in partnership with 5 other hospitals. If the service was adopted and used over time, it was expectedto provide educational benefits and improve clinical outcomes during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP),which is a technically advanced procedure for biliary and pancreatic disease. However, it is known that seemingly successfulinnovations can play out differently in new settings, which might cause variability in clinical outcomes. In addition, few telemedicineservices survive long enough to deliver system-level outcomes, the causes of which are not well understood.Objective: We were interested in factors related to usability and user experience of the telemedicine service, which might affectadoption. Therefore, we investigated perceptions and responses to the use and anticipated use of a system. Technology acceptance,a construct referring to how users perceive a technology’s usefulness, is commonly considered to indicate whether a new technologywill actually be used in a real-life setting. Satisfaction measures were used to investigate whether user expectations and needshave been met through the use of technology. In this study, we asked surgeons to rate the perceived usefulness of teleguidance,and their satisfaction with the telemedicine service in direct conjunction with real-time use during clinical procedures.Methods: We designed domain-specific measures for perceived usefulness and satisfaction, based on performance and outcomemeasures for the clinical procedure. Surgeons were asked to rate their user experience with the telemedicine service in directconjunction with real-time use during clinical procedures.Results: In total, 142 remote intraoperative consultations were conducted during ERCP procedures at 5 hospitals. The demandfor teleguidance was more pronounced in cases with higher complexity. Operating surgeons rated teleguidance to have contributedto performance and outcomes to a moderate or large extent in 111 of 140 (79.3%) cases. Specific examples were that teleguidancewas rated as having contributed to intervention success and avoiding a repeated ERCP in 23 cases, avoiding 3 PTC, and 11referrals, and in 11 cases, combinations of these outcomes. Preprocedure beliefs about the usefulness of teleguidance weregenerally lower than postprocedure satisfaction ratings. The usefulness of teleguidance was mainly experienced through practicaladvice from the consulting specialist (119/140, 85%) and support with assessment and decision-making (122/140, 87%).Conclusions: Users’ satisfaction with teleguidance surpassed their initial expectations, mainly through contribution to nontechnicalaspects of performance, and through help with general assessment. Teleguidance shows the potential to improve performance and outcomes during ERCP. However, it takes hands-on experience for practitioners to understand how the new telemedicineservice contributes to performance and outcomes.

    It is desirable for companies to be able to hide data inside videos to be able to find the source of any unauthorised sharing of a video. The hidden data (the payload) should damage the original data (the cover) by an as small amount as possible while also making it hard to remove the payload without also severely damaging the cover. It was determined that the most appropriate place to hide data in a video was in the visual information, so the cover is an image. Two injection methods were developed and three methods for attacking the payload. One injection method changes the pixel values of an image directly to hide the payload and the other transforms the image to cosine waves that represented the image and it then changes those cosine waves to hide the payload. Attacks were developed to test how hard it was to remove the hidden data. The methods for attacking the payload where to add and remove a random value to each pixel, to set all bits of a certain importance to 1 or to compress the image with JPEG. The result of the study was that the method that changed the image directly was significantly faster than the method that transformed the image and it had a capacity for a larger payload. The injection methods protected the payload differently well against the various attacks so which method that was the best in that regard depends on the type of attack.

    Today, movement measurements are made manually in healthcare using a goniometer. The measurements are often time-consuming and specially trained practitioners are needed, furthermore the readings are dependent on the practitioner's eye measurements. New technology has been introduced to make the same measurements using external sensors which have the disadvantage that they can be costly and space consuming. Recently, depth camera technology has introduced an alternative solution to make it more efficient for both patients and practitioners. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether Apple depth camera technology can replace current technology by being able to perform motion measurements with only one Ipad/Iphone with a built-in depth camera. For this, a prototype has been developed to be able to automatically calculate medically relevant angles by filming a person. Various motion measurements have been performed and the measurement results have been analysed. Apple depth camera has high precision in the measured values. However, a larger study needs to be performed in order to be able to determine whether Apple's depth camera could replace current technology.

    B-SPORT+ är ett projekt som var intresserat av att utveckla en applikation för tips och vägledning inom fysisk träning anpassad till personer med funktionsnedsättningar. B-SPORT+ identifieradebehovet av en decentraliserad ledger i applikationen. En ledger innebär en digital huvudbok som lagrar data över transaktioner utförda i en applikation. I ett tidigare arbete lyftes Blockkedja fram som en möjlig lösning för applikationen. B-SPORT+ upplevde dock att denna teknik innehöll nackdelar som hög energiförbrukning och dyr implementation. Därför skulle detta arbete undersöka,utveckla och utvärdera ett alternativ till Blockkedja med hjälp av relationsdatabaser.

    Resultatet blev två prototyper. Den första prototypen efterliknade Blockkedja-teknik genom att horisontellt fragmentera en relationsdatabas som innehöll en tabell för utförda transaktioner. Sedan användes hasning för att validera transaktioner mellan databas fragment. Det utvecklades även en prototyp med hjälp av Blockkedja-teknik, denna prototyp användes för att utvärdera den första prototypen. Utvärderingen visade att SQL-prototypens struktur minskade minnesutnyttjandet i användardatorer samt minskade den transaktioners energikonsumtionen och tid. Denna struktur tillät även moderering utav data i ledgern vilket var vitalt för den applikation B-SPORT+ ville utveckla

    Abstract [en]

    Background Western countries emphasise the provision of assistive home care by implementing reablement services. Reablement services are offered to a limited degree in Sweden, and systematic research regarding outcomes and how reablement can be tailored to maximize benefits for older adults has been lacking. This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of a novel reablement program (ASSIST 1.0) regarding study design and outcome measures, as well as fidelity, adherence, and acceptability of the program in a Swedish context. Method A non-randomised, quasi-experimental, mixed-method, pre/post-test design was applied with an intervention group receiving ASSIST 1.0 (n = 7) and a control group receiving regular home care (n = 10). ASSIST 1.0 was developed to empower older adults to increase their perceived performance and satisfaction of performing activities in everyday life as well as increase their perceived health, self-efficacy, and well-being. ASSIST 1.0 was founded on the concept of reablement and included three components: i) goal setting with The Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM), ii) provided support to home care staff to enhance their provision of reablement, and iii) explored the incorporation and use of an information- and communication technology (ICT) to facilitate information transfer. Results Using COPM for goal setting with older adults and providing support to the staff via workshops were valuable components in the delivery of ASSIST 1.0. The ICT product encountered several challenges and could not be evaluated. COPM and EQ-5D were deemed the most important instruments. Organisational and political barriers affected the feasibility. Although, the fidelity and adherence were complied the staff perceived the program to be acceptable. Conclusion The ASSIST 1.0 program was feasible in regard of study design, delivering the intervention, and evaluating instruments that detected a change. A logical progression would be to conduct a full-scale trial. In addition, a usability study to evaluate the technological component is also recommended. With minor improvements, the ASSIST 1.0 program has the potential to contribute to the development of a home care organisation that could enhance older adults possibility to age in place at home.

    I detta examensarbete utförs en jämförande analys av metoder och verktyg för hantering och analys av data inom datalager. Med den snabbt ökande mängden data och utvecklingen av molnteknologier står företag inför utmaningen att navigera bland olika metoder för att välja den mest lämpliga för sin specifika datahantering och analysbehov. Rapporten belyser metoden One Big Table (OBT) samt verktyget Data Build Tool (dbt) och undersöker deras för- och nackdelar i datalagermiljöer. För att få en djupare förståelse för deras funktion och effektivitet jämförs de i olika användarfall genom prestandatester på latens och samtidighet med hjälp av verktyget Hyperfine. OBT implementeras med hjälp av Google BigQuery såväl som Google Cloud SQL för PostgreSQL där latens och samtidighet för analytiska målsättningar utvärderas genom användning av Python-skript med SQL-frågor respektive med dbt-modeller. Skripten och dbt-modellerna körs mot BigQuery samt PostgreSQL och de båda implementerar OBT. Resultatet visar att SQL-skripten uppvisade lägre latens än dbt-modeller när de exekverades mot både BigQuery och PostgreSQL. Ett annat fynd är att latensen för SQL-skripten var lägre i PostgreSQL jämfört med BigQuery, medan dbt-modellerna istället uppvisade högre latens i PostgreSQL jämfört med BigQuery. I båda datalagermiljöer visas det även att SQL-skripten presterar bättre än dbt-modeller vid samtidiga körningar.

    Background: Serious games can be a powerful learning tool in higher education. However, the literature indicates that the learning outcome in a serious game depends on the facilitators' competencies. Although professional facilitators in commercial game-based training have undergone specific instruction, facilitators in higher education cannot rely on such formal instruction, as game facilitation is only an occasional part of their teaching activities. Objective: This study aimed to address the actual competencies of occasional game facilitators and their perceived competency deficits. Methods: Having many years of experience as professional and occasional facilitators, we (n=7) defined requirements for the occasional game facilitator using individual reflection and focus discussion. Based on these results, guided interviews were conducted with additional occasional game facilitators (n=4) to check and extend the requirements. Finally, a group of occasional game facilitators (n=30) answered an online questionnaire based on the results of the requirement analysis and existing competency models. Results: Our review produced the following questions: Which competencies are needed by facilitators and what are their training needs? What do current training courses for occasional game facilitators in higher education look like? How do the competencies of occasional game facilitators differ from other competencies required in higher education? The key findings of our analysis are that a mix of managerial and technical competencies is required for facilitating serious games in higher educational contexts. Further, there is a limited or no general competence model for game facilitators, and casual game facilitators rarely undergo any specific, formal training. Conclusions: The results identified the competencies that game facilitators require and a demand for specific formal training. Thus, the study contributes to the further development of a competency model for game facilitators and enhances the efficiency of serious games.

    Abstract [en]

    Temperature regulation in buildings can be tricky and expensive. A common problem when heating buildings is that an unnecessary amount of energy is supplied. This waste of energy is often caused by a faulty regulation system. This thesis presents a machine learning ap- proach, using time series data, to predict the energy supply needed to keep the inside tem- perature at around 21 degrees Celsius. The machine learning models LSTM, Ensemble LSTM, AT-LSTM, ARIMA, and XGBoost were used for this project. The validation showed that the ensemble LSTM model gave the most accurate predictions with the Mean Absolute Error of 22486.79 (Wh) and Symmetric Mean Absolute Percentage Error of 5.41 % and was the model used for comparison with the current system. From the performance of the different models, the conclusion is that machine learning can be a useful tool to pre- dict the energy supply. But on the other hand, there exist other complex factors that need to be given more attention to, to evaluate the model in a better way.

    Abstract [en]

    Introduction Endometriosis is a chronic disease that affects up to 190 million women and those assigned female at birth and remains unresolved mainly in terms of etiology and optimal therapy. It is defined by the presence of endometrium-like tissue outside the uterine cavity and is commonly associated with chronic pelvic pain, infertility, and decreased quality of life. Despite the availability of various screening methods (e.g., biomarkers, genomic analysis, imaging techniques) intended to replace the need for invasive surgery, the time to diagnosis remains in the range of 4 to 11 years. Aims This study aims to create a large prospective data bank using the Lucy mobile health application (Lucy app) and analyze patient profiles and structured clinical data. In addition, we will investigate the association of removed or restricted dietary components with quality of life, pain, and central pain sensitization. Methods A baseline and a longitudinal questionnaire in the Lucy app collects real-world, self-reported information on symptoms of endometriosis, socio-demographics, mental and physical health, economic factors, nutritional, and other lifestyle factors. 5,000 women with confirmed endometriosis and 5,000 women without diagnosed endometriosis in a control group will be enrolled and followed up for one year. With this information, any connections between recorded symptoms and endometriosis will be analyzed using machine learning. Conclusions We aim to develop a phenotypic description of women with endometriosis by linking the collected data with existing registry-based information on endometriosis diagnosis, healthcare utilization, and big data approach. This may help to achieve earlier detection of endometriosis with pelvic pain and significantly reduce the current diagnostic delay. Additionally, we may identify dietary components that worsen the quality of life and pain in women with endometriosis, upon which we can create real-world data-based nutritional recommendations.

    Abstract [en]

    Some individuals and older adults have trouble remembering when to take their medication. A medication dispenser machine is one suggested solution to this problem. The purpose of this thesis is to design a prototype of a wireless machine for storing and releasing patients’ medication dosages at a certain time. The user can insert the medication schedule through a platform connected to the machine via wireless technology. In order to achieve the purpose, a literature study was conducted to gather and analyze information about wireless communication technologies to determine the most appropriate wireless technology for the thesis end device. The Arduino MKR NB 1500 is the core component of the prototype of the wireless system. Several types of tests were conducted on the system to evaluate its performance, as well as to determine NB-IoT coverage in real-world scenarios. The NB-IoT technology was proven to be the more suitable technology for the wireless pill dispensing machine and for other IoT applications. Moreover, the system performed satisfactorily in solving the defined problem. Despite this, the system could be improved in terms of design, mechanisms, and hygiene system of medicines.

    Vitiligo is a skin disease where the pigment cells that produce melanin die or stop functioning, which causes white patches to appear on the body. Although vitiligo is not considered a serious disease, there is a risk that something is wrong with a person's immune system. In recent years, the use of medical image processing techniques has grown, and research continues to develop new techniques for analysing and processing medical images. In many medical image classification tasks, deep convolutional neural network technology has proven its effectiveness, which means that it may also perform well in vitiligo classification. Our study uses four deep convolutional neural networks in order to classify images of vitiligo and normal skin. The architectures selected are VGG-19, ResNeXt101, InceptionResNetV2 and Inception V3. ROC and AUC metrics are used to assess each model's performance. In addition, the authors investigate the economic benefits that this technology may provide to the healthcare system and patients. To train and evaluate the CNN models, the authors used a dataset that contains 1341 images in total. Because the dataset is limited, 5-fold cross validation is also employed to improve the model's prediction. The results demonstrate that InceptionV3 achieves the best performance in the classification of vitiligo, with an AUC value of 0.9111, and InceptionResNetV2 has the lowest AUC value of 0.8560.

    Engineering systems are complex, amongst others due to the interdependencies between actor and technical aspects. This complexity has consequences for the way of designing such systems and, in particular, for the decision-making process. Recognizing the impossibility of having an optimal system design in such complex systems, this article explores how a game theoretical characterization of a decision-making process assists in the organization and design of the process itself. In contrast to a game theoretical analysis, which results in optimal outcomes, the characterization is fed back to the designers of the decision-making process during the course of the process. The study analyses how the game concept characterization was used, i.e., which strategies were defined during the game theory interventions, and what the consequences of these strategies were for the design of the decision-making process. The design of a new safety system ERTMS for the Dutch railway sector is the context in which the study was performed. The contribution is a successful approach to complex decision-making in multi-actor systems by identification of multiple game concepts over time, with periodic feedback into the designing system, and not the actual decision-making itself. In short, it supported adapting to an actor focus on the process, it affected the role and responsibilities of the program management, it contributed to (de)coupling of issues, and it influenced the capability of creating awareness amongst actors of the urgency of the decision window. The paper ends with reflections on the experience of intervening in a decision-making process with game theoretical concepts.

    Ett sätt att utveckla webbapplikationer är att göra det i två delar. Dels ett API, dels en klient. Denna rapport fokuserar på JSON-API:er och på att hitta en lösning för att identifiera kritiska ändringar i JSON-meddelanden innan de påverkar sin avseddaklient på ett oönskat sätt.

    En fallstudie är genomförd hos ett företag som utvecklar sina webbapplikationer i två delar. Resultatet är en utvecklad webbapplikation (ett verktyg) som löser problemet genom att spela in API-förfrågningar som repeteras mot flera olika versioner av API:et. Versionstaggade svar samlas in och jämförs mot varandra med olika avseenden.

    Webbapplikationen (verktyget) lyckas på ett tillfredställande sätt identifiera kritiska ändringar i JSON-meddelanden. Detta verifieras med hjälp av ett test-API, och bekräftar därmed examensarbetets hypotes.

    För att kunna testa ett API, vars bakomliggande applikation är stateful, förväntas den applikationen vara återställd till ett standardiserat tillstånd inför varje användning av verktyget. Detta är en begränsning.

    Det finns en utvecklingspotential i att få verktyget att fungera även mot autentiserade API:er.

    The problem today is that people do not eat climate-smart food; this results in that the food will not suffice, and what we eat may harm the greenhouse effect. The problem is that people do not have the time or knowledge to cook climate-smart food. A solution is to use a Content Management System (CMS). A Content Management System processes selected type of data in a specific way which is then stored. This report will address the basics and the making of a CMS in a recommendation system for a user. The system will entail a more climate-smart food alternative to achieve the individual's personal needs. The result was that with the help of data from various sources, an ingredient of a recipe could add additional information such as nutritional value, allergies, and whether it is vegetarian. Tests such as performance tests on the execution time for the CMS, parsing accuracy, and matching product accuracy, a better result was achieved. Most of the ingredients in the recipe became enriched, which leads to more climate-smart food alternatives, which are better for the environment. The accuracy is the matching of ingredients in the recipe to the names of products in the business. The next step was to enrich the recipes using enriched ingredients.

    Abstract

    Fingerprinting a website is the process of identifying what technologies a websiteuses, such as their used web applications and JavaScript frameworks. Currentfingerprinting methods use manually created fingerprints for each technology itlooks for. These fingerprints consist of multiple text strings that are matchedagainst an HTTP response from a website. Creating these fingerprints for eachtechnology can be time-consuming, which limits what technologies fingerprints canbe built for. This thesis presents a potential solution by utilizing unsupervisedmachine learning techniques to cluster websites by their used web application andJavaScript frameworks, without requiring manually created fingerprints. Oursolution uses multiple bag-of-words models combined with the dimensionalityreduction technique t-SNE and clustering algorithm OPTICS. Results show thatsome technologies, for example, Drupal, achieve a precision of 0.731 and recall of0.485 without any training data. These results lead to the conclusion that theproposed solution could plausibly be used to cluster websites by their webapplication and JavaScript frameworks in use. However, further work is needed toincrease the precision and recall of the results.
