Projektet ligger i utkanten av Kungens kurva, precis intill Gömmarens naturreservat. Idag är Gömmargårdens ridskola verksamma på platsen och Segeltorps IP med fotbollsplan och ishall, är ett stenkast bort. Byggnadens syfte är att knyta samman alla idrottsverksamheter på platsen med hjälp av den offentliga delen av programmet, samtidigt som resterande av programmet förbättrar ridskolans förutsättningar. Förslaget innehåller förbättringar till den befintliga ridskolan på platsen samt ett tillägg på 8 fölningsboxar, för att skapa en livslång miljö för hästar på gården. Dessutom finns en liten veterinär klinik i byggnaden, som ett stöd till fölningsstallet och ridskolan. 

Anläggningens utformning bygger på tanken om insyn och förståelse för en hästverksamhet samt att naturen ska släppas in i byggnaderna. Huvudbyggnaden består av tre byggnadskroppar binds samman av en gångbrygga med ett café, för att främja möten mellan olika besökare. Det finns dessutom en fristående stallbyggnad för ridskolans hästar med en tydlig koppling till lösdriften. Materialvalen till husen är trä till övervåningen och tegel till nedervåningen, för att uppfylla hållbarhetskrav samt skapa en skillnad mellan de olika våningarna. 

The project is situated on the outskirts of Kungens Kurva, adjacent to the Gömmaren Nature Reserve. Today, the site is home to Gömmargården Riding School, with Segeltorp Sports Grounds, consisting of football fields and an ice rink, just a short walk away. The new building is designed to unite the area’s diverse sports activities through its public spaces, while other parts of the program supports the riding school’s operations. The proposal includes improvements to the riding school’s facilities alongside with the addition of eight foaling stalls, creating a setting where horses can live out their entire lives. A small veterinary clinic is also integrated into the design, providing support to both the foaling stable and the riding school.

The architectural concept is driven by openness and transparency, offering visitors a deeper understanding of equestrian sports while blurring the boundary between indoors and nature. The main building is composed of three volumes linked by an elevated walkway featuring a café, encouraging encounters between different user groups. A separate stable for the riding school’s horses connects directly to the outdoor paddock system. The material choices consist of timber for the upper floors and brick at ground level, fulfilling sustainability requirements while creating a clear visual distinction between the building’s tiers.
