This paper describes the susceptibility of handheld GPS (Global positioning system) receivers and wireless cameras to a single radiated Ultra wide band (UWB) electromagnetic pulse. Due to the wideband nature of the fields the transients can be front-door coupled through the antennas of the devices under test (DUT). “Interference Levels” were correlated with peak absolute electric field and variations in susceptibility between different orientations of the test object with respect to incident field were seen. It is concluded that these common sensitive electronic devices can easily be disturbed by a single radiated UWB transient.
