Abstract [en]
This thesis is part of the ongoing effort of the KTH Advanced Roller Rig initiative. We seek to design sensor, data acquisition (DAQ) andcontrol subsystems as part of the rig’s mechatronic systems. We begin with studying elements of scaled roller rigs and mechatronic systems, then analysing the KTH Roller Rig as a mechatronic system. In order to design subsystems, requirements and specifications of them are necessary. Hence, system requirements of the rig are investigated, from a model based system engineering (MBSE) perspective. Understanding the requirements, key components of sensors, including force, torque, acceleration, displacement and rotary speed as well as DAQ and control system which includes signal conditioning, DAQ hardware and hardware, were designed. Based on fundamental system elements, architectures are drafted for envisioned testing in the near future. A benchmark test of the selected DAQ and control system was performed for reference in development thereafter.

Denna examensarbete är en del av den pågående utveckling på KTH:s Advancerad Roller Rig. Vi kommer att utforma sensorer, datainsamling- och styrdelsystem som en del av riggens mekatroniska system. I början studerar vi befintliga skalad roller rig och mekatroniska system. Sedan analysera vi KTH:s rig som en mekatroniska sytem. För att utforma delsystemen, krav och specifikationer behövs, därför undersökas riggens system krav ur ett MBSEperspektiv. Med förståelse av kraven utformas nyckelkomponenter, som ingår sensorer och datainsamling mjuk- och hårdvaror. Baserat på grundläggande systemelement, arkitekturer utarbetas för planerade tester i en nära framtid. Ett benchmark-test av det valda datainsamling- och kontrollsystemet. utfördes som referens för framtida utveckling.
