Abstract [en]
The construction industry has always had a high ratio of workplace accidents in perspective to other industries. A lot of this relates to the differences between the different sites at which a planned project is set to take place. It is easier to predict and plan for unplanned events at a factory than in consistently new environments. This report aims to increase the understanding of how a construction site can become safer without interfering with productivity but rather work in symmetry to create a healthier and more prosperous production. The structure of this report is founded on a theoretical study based on research from old studies accompanied by interviews and surveys gathered from larger contractors in Sweden. Reflections can be found in the analysis which are based on the results gathered throughout the report, where a lot points at good planning as a key factor to a safe and effective production. The conclusion is that planning is key along with the knowledge of people who have worked at and been at the worksite. It is important that these people can enter the planning process at an early stage to share their experiences and inform the constructors of what is possible and what is not.
