Abstract [en]

Water scarcity and climate change increasingly threaten agricultural productivity. As agriculture consumes over 70% of global freshwater, enhancing water resilience is essential. This chapter explores the role of Nature-based Solutions (NBSs), such as terracing, wetlands, conservation tillage, mulching, cover crops, and agroforestry, in improving soil moisture retention, infiltration, and climate adaptability in farming systems. These practices reduce water input requirements, offering a cost-effective and sustainable pathway to build climate-resilient agriculture.
