Abstract [en]
In the project, I have worked with two resources in our society that have been forgotten. The deserted boiler house Krigsrådet 3 and the material wool. The boiler house has been empty for a number of years. New housing is planned in the area and the boiler house is therefore threatened to be demolished. During my investigation of the building through a site visit inside and many outside, as well as studying plans and searching for any information I could find, I began to see the building’s rough character of concrete and large utility rooms as a potential resource. If the building had to be demolished for housing, what kind of program could keep it standing?
Some boiler rooms today are converted into public buildings, for example art centers and kindergartens, but many are left empty and eventually demolished. At a time when we increasingly need to return to making the most of the resources we have, wool became a potential lifesaver for Krigsrådet 3.
