Abstract [en]

My own experience of working with architecture, both in school and as an intern, has confirmed that we often work far from the physical reality of construction. The emphasis on efficiency and specialization in building professions has led to a fragmented process, which affects the built result. We can divide the professions involved in construction into two groups: one that develops the building idea—mainly architects and engineers where the idea of a building is turned into instructions in the form of text and drawings —and one that translates these instructions into physical reality, the builders. I  have some personal experience of working in construction which has given me some understanding in whats its like to be on the side that and translates these instructions. Many times they do not correspond to the best way of solving things which leads to wasteful processes concerning time and material and also an increased gap between the professions. I believe it would be beneficial to decrease the gap between the physical world of construction to the intellectual. To work closer to the real world to gain better understanding of materials, gravity and climate. So for this project, I wanted to create a space where anyone interested in building culture could gain practical knowledge.
