Modellering av Dynamisk Respons hos Pulsverktyg (Swedish)
Abstract [en]

Mechanical vibrations are a concern in many engineering fields. Atlas Copco Industrial Technique AB produces industrial power tools that are used in, for example, aerospace and automotive industries. The aim of this project is to gain a better understanding of the dynamic behavior of pulsating tools, which can further improve ergonomics for the user and contribute to clearer demands on fatigue strength. This thesis describes a method in which vibration measurements with accelerometers at some positions on the tool are used to predict the accelerations at other locations. The results showed that both the motion of the battery and the motion of the driveline can be described as two separate rigid body motions. From their motion, the acceleration of the grip could be approximated using beam theory. The results showed that beam theory gave a close approximation up to 250 Hz. The results also suggest that the motion of the driveline is affected by the stiffness of the grip and the size of the battery. Both the case with a stiffer grip and the case with a smaller battery gave an upward shift in the resonance frequency.
