Den här studien undersöker hur studentbostäder kan utformas för att bättre möta studenters behov av funktion, trivsel och flexibilitet. Utgångspunkten är en enkätundersökning med 29 respondenter samt djupintervjuer av fyra studenter. Ett gestalningsförslag har tagits fram utifrån studenternas svar. En fastighet i Midsommarkransen, Stockholm där studentbostäder planeras att byggas har använts för denna gestaltningsutredning.För att få insikt i målgruppens behov har data samlats in genom enkäter och intervjuer med studenter samt samtal med förvaltare. Resultaten visar att studenterna i denna studie främst prioriterar ett välutrustat kök, goda förvaringsmöjligheter och möjlighet att separera olika funktioner i bostaden, såsom vila och arbete.Gestaltningsförslaget har utvecklats i flera steg där olika volymstudier, placeringar och planlösningar har prövats och utvärderats. En central del i förslaget är att varje kvadratmeter ska användas effektivt och att bostaden ska stödja en balans mellan studier, vila och socialt liv.Det slutgiltiga förslaget kombinerar funktionella lösningar med platsanpassad arkitektur som svarar mot kraven för studenterna i denna studie och den valda fastighetens begränsade plats.

This study explores how student housing can be designed to better meet students’ needs for functionality, comfort and flexibility. The starting point is a survey with 29 respondents as well as in-depth interviews with four students. A design proposal has been developed based on students´responses. A property located in Midsommarkransen, Stockholm, where student housing is planned has been used a the basis for this design proposal.To gain insight into the needs of the target group, data was collected through surveys and interviews with students, as well as discussions with housing managers. The results show that the students in this study primarily prioritize a well-equipped kitchen, effective storage solutions and the ability to separate different functions within the living space, such as rest and study.The design proposal has developed through a multi-step process in which various building volumes, placements and apartment layouts were tested and evaluated. A central aspect of the proposal is to make efficient use of every square meter while supporting a balance between academic work, rest and social life.The final proposal combines functional solutions with site-specific architecture that responds to the needs of the students in the study and the spatial constraints and the limited space of the selected property.
